Baked Meatballs with Bongiovi Arrabiata Sauce

Florentine meatballs

INGREDIENTS:

1 jar «Bongiovi-Arrabbiata» Sauce
1/4 cup chopped spinach
1 egg
1/4 cup bread crumps
3/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
3/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
500 g lean ground beef
1 clove, minced
2 T chopped onions
Muffin pan

DIRECTIONS:

In a medium bowl, mix together the egg, bread crumbs, onions and garlic along with ½ jar of Bongiovi sauce, ¼ cup of the mozzarella and ¼ cup of the Parmesan cheese.
Shape into 8–10 large balls.
Put a spoonful of pasta sauce into each muffin pan cup and then place the meatballs on top. Spread the remaining cheese over each of the meatballs.
Bake uncovered at 180° C (350° F) for 20–30 minutes.
Placing a glass of water in the oven will prevent the meat from drying out.

TIP:

Serve on a bed of fresh spinach or with your favorite pasta.

"Polpette cacio e uova" with Bongiovi Dad's Original Sauce

Vegetarian meatballs

INGREDIENTS:

1 jar Bongiovi Dad’s Original Sauce
350 g stale bread (such as ciabatta)
200 g grated young pecorino
150 g grated parmesan
4 eggs
1 handful of parsley

DIRECTIONS:

Tear the bread into pieces (without crusts) and place in a food processor. Blend in bursts until medium-size breadcrumbs form.
Combine all the ingredients in a bowl. With moist hands, form balls slightly larger than golf balls.
Fry them in oil until they are just golden brown (but not any longer, or the cheese will run out.)

Alternatively, sauté them in a pan as you would traditional meatballs.

TIP:

Enjoy the dish with a salad and Bongiovi Dad’s Original Sauce.
